A different approach to home care for the elderly and incapacitated

Do you have friends or relatives living in the Sevenoaks area who, through accident, illness or advancing years, need help to maintain their independence? Or perhaps you feel that some extra companionship would improve their quality of life. Either way, Caremore Companions could well be the solution.

Busy and complex lives leave less time than we'd like to spend with those we love. Often we live many miles apart which makes frequent visits impossible. But Caremore Companions can help to fill the gap. In addition to practical assistance our unique approach focuses on emotional well-being - our priorities are the services you would receive from a good-natured and helpful companion.

If you feel we could be of help please ring 01732 453070 and ask for Alexandra or email us on I will then be happy to visit you, at your convenience, to discuss your particular requirements. You can also download a pdf of our brochure by clicking here.

“Alex Ward began providing care to my elderly parents in November 2010. Initially she undertook some routine domestic tasks to ease the burden on my Mother who, sadly, had been diagnosed with cancer, and also a small amount of care/companionship for my Father so that my Mother could have some respite time. Following my Mother’s death, Alex became a full-time carer for my Father.

In her time with my Father, Alex visited 3 times a day, preparing meals and doing the necessary shopping. She did his laundry, managed his daily routine, helped him manage his diary, took him to medical appointments, collected prescriptions and ran the household. Alex brought very special qualities for her work with my parents, empathy and warmth, discretion, imagination, great tact, very strong organisation skills, strong practical skills, total trustworthiness, generosity of her time, close liaison with my brother and me, scrupulous record keeping on expenses etc

These special qualities meant that the standard of her care was well above what we might have expected from a commercial transaction.

During her time with my Father, Alex expanded Caremore Companions but she continued to be very much involved with my Father’s care, visiting twice and very often three times a day, seven days a week.

I am sure it is clear that my brother and I cannot speak too highly of Alex and the care offered by Caremore Companions. We count ourselves truly blessed to have had such wonderful care at such a crucial stage of our parents’ lives and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Alex and Caremore Companions to anyone needing support for an elderly or otherwise incapacitated relative.”

Sally Lancashire, Daughter of Mrs Romy Marr and Dr Alfred Marr, Sevenoaks

”Alex Ward provided wonderful support to my Father. He was a retired doctor, very particular in his ways.

Alex came to his house every week-day morning to prepare and serve breakfast, get lunch ready and undertake some housework and laundry.

It was a huge success. Alex is cheerful, intelligent and reliable. She was always willing to do what was required to my Father’s standards. He liked her very much and it was an enormous comfort to his family to know that she was there every day.

Alex’s company is called Caremore and the name truly reflects the attitude that she brings to the service she provides.”

Mrs Carolyn Knott, Daughter to Dr.P.Headley – Sevenoaks

“We are so thankful for the day in 2012 when Alex came into our lives to care for our parents. Initially, she visited a few times a week to care for our Mother who needed constant companionship and help, so that the full time live-in carer could take a break.

Although Alex’s duties were primarily for my Mother who has vascular dementia and very limited mobility, she found time to support my Father, a bright and alert 90 year old who thrived on intellectual conversations and local excursions. Sadly my Father has since passed away.

Alex and her colleague are now much more involved with our Mother’s daily routine, regularly visiting up to 4 days per day. Their support and care have made a huge contribution to our Mother’s well-being and quality of life over the past 2 years. Alex and her colleague are totally reliable and trustworthy and have provided tremendous support to us, the children, and also the live-in carers.

Alex is enthusiastic, creative, well organised and practical and brings all these qualities with a real personal touch. I have no hesitation in recommending Alex and Caremore Companions to anyone who is looking for that special personal care for a loved one.”

”We really can’t praise Alex enough for her thoughtful care and attention in providing support for our Mother. She has been fantastic and has made possible a life for our Mother living at home which we didn’t think she could achieve. With her family living far away, it was really important to us to have complete confidence in Mum’s care arrangements. We were constantly impressed with Alex’s attention to detail and her willingness to go the extra mile, all of which allowed our Mother to enjoy a dignified independent lifestyle.”
